A new announcement. Not sure how seriously to take this. Does anyone know if that’s an existing aircraft?

How the heck does the transport jet take off or land with the space vehicle attached beneath it? Stilted wheels?
There’s at least 2.2m clearance under the belly of the MD-11 and a possibility to raise this by ~0.5m by over-filling the undercarriage’s oleo struts. So, as long as they keep their design’s height to ~2m, they should have sufficient ground clearance to hang it under the belly without the need for major structural modifications that cut into the airframe.
Looks kinda like an L-1011.
I believe that’s a DC-10. The Tristars third engine is inline with only the scoop on the vertical stabilizer.
I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Their website is linked in the article:

I hope I’m proven wrong though. Like Ron said the carried vehicle seems way too big to fit underneath that airplane.
Its just an artists impression. They even left in the windows for the passengers…
Space pirates of Penzance, no doubt.
