I would be willing to bet against this depending on exactly what would constitute “space mining”.
Twenty years ago we were all saying space tourism was only a decade away. I guess we could claim we were right but we were still very disappointed.
It’s just like fusion. It’s perpetually a decade away.
If launch licensing is the major impediment to real estate… then real estate is pretty much a done deal.
There are two conflicting aspects of human nature at odds here… the desire to possess and the desire to control others (not to possess.)
People on site win this conflict hands down.
