How they’re taking over your weather forecasts.
Pretty sure that meteorologists in general aren’t part of the BS 97%, though. Interesting comment that weather is the only thing keeping local news alive. It’s the only reason I generally turn it on. I haven’t noticed and of the LA weathercasters talking about climate so far, though, fortunately.
More every year, The Weather Channel is becoming Bill Nye the Weather Guy. People, if you can get Weather Nation in your area, I can recommend it. Just don’t rely on the closed captioning.
Which weather service has the youngish women in tight clothes, standing sideways to the camera so they can see their monitor screen in order to point on the weather maps projected over their blue screen?
My brother worked in IT at the American Meteorological Society, and when someone did a poll of their members, IIRC, it was one of the fields most skeptical that the climate was warming and that it was substantially human-driven (it was in the mid-60 percents, but that’s “low” compared to other fields). But there is a lot of pressure from the “establishment” groups like the Weather Channel and (I think) factions of the AMS themselves to conform to the “consensus”.
Sorry this is so anecdotal; I don’t remember the details well.
Just this afternoon I was doing a computer update in our company’s dispatch center, where by necessity the Weather Channel is constantly on a large screen television. Their broadcast for the lower midwest where severe thunderstorms were forecast included sophisticated graphics warning that 117 million people were in danger from this storm.
This last winter was as mild as I can ever remember it, but not a word was spoken about Climate Change.
You see if they blamed the mild winter on Climate Change, people would get to thinking, “This Climate Change is pretty good!” And we can’t have any of that.
Climate Evangelists?
Is that like Pat Robertson praying for a hurricane to turn back from a populated coastline?
Or is Reverend Robertson a weather evangelist?
