Recently I gained 80 lbs in six weeks followed by losing 120 lbs in 8 weeks. Mostly water I’m sure. But I didn’t change diet much the entire time.
What I’ve noticed is stress has more impact than diet on me.
Also, I just recently finished another antibiotic series and am taking probiotics now. My weight has been steady.
Since many diet books over the years hve been built on the false premise of just reducing calories and increasing exercise, it’s no wonder that people get the idea that diets don’t work.
That Vox author is a real hypocrite. Her article excoriating Ludwig for allegedly making overblown promises based on simplistic analysis includes a pointer to her own article “Surprisingly simple tips from 20 experts about how to lose weight and keep it off”. Give me a break.
