There is nothing “progressive” or new about collectivism. It’s the oldest game in civilization.

And there will always be willing serfs cheering on the overlords.
How can you consider a multimillionaire like Hillary Clinton a collectivist:-)
Although, I was pleased that she finally admitted that Obamacare was originally Hillarycare– an idea she stole from the Republicans who wanted to force the American people into the arms of the private health insurance companies.

What are the implications of the fact that something proposed by conservatives is now considered extremely left wing? Maybe history does not always move left.
An honest American conservative would NEVER support the mandates in the ACA. A RINO is another story.
Kevin D. Williamson is an extraordinarily gifted writer, and an intellectual to boot. He’s quickly becoming my favorite writer.

Yeah. But there is nothing new about liberty and freedom, either.
But America is new in sense, the founding fathers and thereby the government, clearly outlined how a government could/should continue a nation based upon emphasis of promoting liberty and did so by asserting governmental mechanisms outlined in the US constitution.
Or in simple term what’s new, is that mechanism to enable more liberty was clearly explained, and collectivism has not been [nor can it be] clearly explained or implemented. Collectivism is as clear as mud- and that’s the way collectivists desire it to be [it’s more useful to be vague].
There does seem to be an under-current of entitlement here. Both in the Clinton and Bush campaigns…
They are about to both receive an education, today….
Psh, and people thought Hillary lacked progressive street cred. Of course, a true progressive wouldn’t be afraid to call herself a socialist though.
By the bye, does anyone have an explanation why blacks strongly (seem to) support Clinton over Sanders? I mean, I think liberal policies have been terrible for America’s black people, but I understand that they disagree and vote for Democrats. But why Clinton?
(Note that Coates just announced that he is supporting Sanders.)
