My view on that is that it’s ok to be a one-trick pony as long as you have a really good trick. Being known for wearing PJs is not that really good trick.
Unless you are Hugh Hefner and your pjs are rather fancy and silky smooth.
Hef’s pjs wouldn’t be cool unless he had an ever changing cast of accessories. Now that’s a good trick.
The political redefinition of words is actually a common tactic of fascists, so this does not surprise me at all. I think Orwell called it “newspeak”.
When I first heard of this, I thought it had been sent by a rival campaign to smear cruz. However, it’s confirmed; it’s real (it’s from his campaign), and part of his vaunted ground game. This is both sleazy, and incompetent. (He’s spending money to hurt himself).
I only hope that this dumb move does not propel Rubio up into second place.
Ya, that was horrible.
Sleazy and incompetent? Dumb move?
Dumb, yes, but not in the sense of the result of a bad decision. Dumb in the sense of sophomoric, dumb in the sense of an Adam Sandler movie, no, dumb in the sense that scat and flatulence jokes are funny in the 3rd Grade.
Not sleazy dumb, but “insult the intelligence of the people you want to vote for you” dumb. Dumb in these sense of “where did this man go to school, the Ivy League?” sort of dumb.
Unlikely, since Rubio’s campaign has one too. Turns out this “sleazy” tactic “nobody uses” has been around 25 years and everybody uses it — because it works.
People need to sack up and do what grown-ups have always done with campaign mailers: toss ’em, unopened.
Sometimes I wonder whether there’s a connection between this kind of heavy-handed tactic and the low voter turnouts we so often see in this country. Perhaps it isn’t that people aren’t bothering to vote. Maybe at least some of them are see this kind of thing and choose to stay home, voting for “None of the Above.”
“Even as his state literally sinks, Rubio won’t acknowledge that climate change is real.”
Multiple levels of disconnect-brain-engage-mouth moronicness there.
So is Trump a literal synecdoche for the collapse of the political system?
You mean “they’re all stupid now”? No argument here.
Off topic, but if you’re wondering where Baghdad Jim has been lately, he made a very public appearance recently:

However, speaking of nasty tactics, I, a Cruz supporter, am appalled by a move by the Cruz campaign.
