C’mon, Rand. Both Mr. Podhoretz and Mr. Todd are Jewish. Chuck Todd must have been dying for the opportunity for that play-on-words (mensch == Jewish word for an upstanding person).
What’s annoying is the Wikipedia article(s) on Mensheviks and Bolsheviks has been deliberately kept wrong for years–you can see a conversation about it in the Talk page.
The Bolsheviks were a minority sub-party, but chose the name to sound like they were the majority. The Wikipedia articly simply blandly says they were the majority.
Yeah, I kinda have to think Todd was making a joke, even if he wasn’t particularly aware of the details of early Soviet/pre-Soviet Commie-on-Commie factionalism.
You can’t really blame the idiot head talker. The left, who controls education, book printing, entertainmnet and the news media has blanked out the Communist record and history from anything but the most niche history books. In its place they substituted Howard Zinn.
