You get the distinct impression, from the very first sentence, that Kevin Williamson doesn’t like them.

Gotta say, I expected to be nonplussed and disappointed. But this talk of a “year of action” and “acting on my own” independent of congress and so forth is much more chilling than I expected. It’s disturbing to fully realize that the President lives in a fantasy universe where he thinks it’s ok to ignore the rule of law almost entirely so long as he’s pursing the greater good.
Apparently, “going it alone” and “acting unilaterally” is no longer a bad thing. Of course the interesting thing was when those concepts were bad, the President actually worked with Congress, and never did go it alone or act unilaterally.
With some of Congress applauding this entirely unconstitutional declaration.
He said he wants to close Gitmo. ^_^
SOTU should have soundtrack accompaniment.

(This was one of my Obama Countdown selections in 2008.)
Correction: 2009. (My January 15 post).
Lol, it wasn’t that creepy.
I’m sure Jim will love it. More free stuff from Obama.
I sent an email to Boenher. I doubt he will listen, but this is what I wrote:
Speaker Boehner,
As head of the legislative branch, I ask that you tell the President that he cannot subvert the law of the land with his executive orders.
You could simply say:
“No, Mr. President, you cannot undermine 230 years of legislative tradition.”
“No, Mr. President, you cannot rule like a dictator, there are rules that we follow.”
“No, Mr. President, you cannot subvert this country’s elected officials.”
Please, Speaker Bohener, do something that will stop Obama’s executive order madness.
I figure anything the occupier of the White House proposed that wasn’t criminal or a blatant lie has a short expiration date.
