This should help dispel idea it’s not welfare and be less profitable for
lobbyists to lobby.
Good luck. Its one of the strongest addictions Congress critters suffer from, especially since agricultural areas are over represented and feel their constituents are short changed because of all the federal spending that flows to urban areas.
But it really distorts agricultural markets leading to less innovation and less efficient land use.
