  1. “The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.” – Tom Clancy

All Obama needed to say was the IRS were doing their job; looking for tax dodgers

The blogosphere is a good example of chaos and the butterfly effect. I like the concept that small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system

    1. So are you saying that the wingnut narrative on this subject is a fiction . . . because it makes sense?

Are you saying that the Right Blogosphere reaction is a flapping of butterfly wings . . . but that it is actually going to change the macroscopic “behavior of the system.”

I agree that the IRS was doing its job scrutinizing groups that have right-wingy names, rocks under which tax dodgers and tax protestors hide . . . much as the TSA and Homeland security is doing its job giving special to scrutiny to persons with Slavic and Near Eastern names?

        You do?

        1. Yes, the IRS should “profile” persons and organizations. I mean, isn’t that what airport security does?

            Unfortunately, no.

  2. The Obama IRS demanded that several Tea Party groups provide back-end access to their websites.”

I have one theory behind the corruption: over time lefty apparatchiks have grown more and more confident that they will never ever be punished for anything. They take it for granted that their opposition will always be the Elmer Fudd Party, that everyone of any consequence will always look the other way. Appeasenik Republicans bear part of the blame for this.

    1. I wonder what they were going to do with that access. Given the intrusive nature of the inquiries, I would worry about retribution not just from the IRS.

  3. Wikipedia lists 106,000 employees at the IRS. The campaign contributions’ significance is suspicious.

    1. 106,000??? That’s insane.

a flat tax would require a couple of retirees an no need of a billion rounds of hollow point.

      1. My God man! Think of the bureaucrats!

NASA isn’t the only US government jobs program. And it doesn’t stop there, there’s a whole industry based around telling people how to deal with incredibly complex tax laws which would vanish if they were simplified.

  4. We’ve come to the point where the people are afraid of the government, and the government isn’t the least bit afraid of the people.

That usually doesn’t end well if not reversed.

  5. You’ve become too temperate Rand. It really is time to go bat shit crazy in pressing this issue. Well, perhaps not now, but when? They keep crowding us to the edge of the cliff and chiding us for complaining about it.

By comparison, we had a revolution and killed people for a whole lot less.

    1. Only Democrats are allowed to talk about revolutions.

I sat by and watched the Obamacare protests on the internet but should I find myself with some free time and a tired Bass Thumb, I will set up shop outside the local IRS building. I wonder if conservatives would get the same privilages as Obama’s OWS for setting up tent villages and drum circles in every city…

That whole OWS thing looks especially corrupt now. The Democrats sent their militants into the streets to riot and physically intimidate the opposition while local party officials did nothing to keep them in check or uphold the rule of law.

Where are the TP groups who were attacked? They should be setting up.some protests.

Maybe some Democrats would show up to but we would have to tell them not to break windows, crap all over the place, and try as hard as they can not to stand six inches from a cop and yell obscenities.
