Paul Damphousse is out at NSS. As Michael Mealling notes, it really is a profoundly dysfunctional organization, not just because of its structure, but because of the tension between the constituencies within that has existed ever since the L-5/NSI merger in the eighties.

Sadly the same may be said for the rest of the space advocate groups. But then the entire problem with space advocacy has been the focus on the government as the solution and the source of funding for space settlement.
Don’t forget the space solar power faction.. their unshakable belief that more government R&D can make SSP practical has been a core part of the NSS for years now.
Trent, that is because without SSP there is no way to justify the government spending trillions on building the O”Neill habitats that are the core of their existence 🙂
