Part of the problem is focusing on NASA which even with a budget to spend is mostly irrelevant. We need motivation which is why I’ve added a new page on that subject to my blog. We need funding and profit.
Risk goes back under the radar once we again start to move forward. It’s always an issue, but with commercial activity it becomes normalized which is to say, taking into proper consideration.
Yes, the reasons commercial aircraft with problems are not grounded for 2-3 years while Presidential Commission review every nut and bolt is the economy is dependent on them. So if groundings occur, as with the B787, then are short and focused on fixing the issue.
