Looks like they kept a tree, seems to be one in the background behind the orbiter.
Need a picture of a Big Boy to go with the orbiter.
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to exit the donut.”
That’s not a donut. That’s the latest in reentry vehicles.
Homer Simpson must be driving.
“Hi. I need 2 dozen glazed donuts.”
“That’ll be $13.45 at the first window, please.”
“Damn! The Canadarm is only Tim Horton’s-compatible!”
I read an article today giving the route, times and mentioning the number of people who were out to see it moving through the streets. One lady said she’d brought her daughter out to see the Shuttle, because it’s historic that it was coming through their neighborhood. My immediate thought was along the lines of,
“…it’s historic to see it pass your street, but did you ever have her watch it fly!?”
D@mn, that donut shop is still open? My parents used to take me there when I was a kid, and I’m 54 now!
Darkstar,
I first went there in 1974 in my late teens, as a tourist. I’ve been back a couple times since then. The donuts aren’t anywhere NEAR as good as they used to be.
But I just had a thought, maybe they weren’t as good in 1974, as they were when they opened?

Looks like a go for Baumgartner.
