GM may yet have to go through a real bankruptcy:
Well, what do you know, the Obama Administration didn’t reveal all the details to the judge. Is anyone surprised that this gang of Chicago thugs decided that the judge didn’t need to know the sweetheart deal that would save their union buddies?
It sounds like Judge Gerber is ready to reopen the whole thing, essentially forcing GM into a real bankruptcy, including having to pay back the $27 billion to the Treasury… which, given that they only have about $30 billion on hand, could spell the end of GM.
Or at least the end of the sweetheart deal.
Now that is sweet.
If that happens, Gerber will have shown more political courage than any judge since Sir Thomas More.
That’s scary. Remember what happened to Sir Thomas.
A pet peeve of mine…
References to arch-enemy or arch-angel (such as in More’s Utopia) often refer to multiples of such. How can there be more than one top enemy or top angel?
About friggin’ time
I can’t think of a more effective way to piss off a judge than to lie to them.
You would think who ever put together the GM bankruptcy would have been smart enough to know this.
Well, it depends on whether the judge can and does reverse this. As a commenter noted, this is something like putting toothpaste back in the tube. Which is probably why the Obama administration cut corners in the first place. Because they don’t expect and may be correct in their expectation that the GM restructuring won’t be reversed.
This is how O accomplishes all of his thefts.
He just goes ahead and . . . does it.
He knows he’d have to fight to accomplish what he wants through the provided processes.
So, he simply ignores the law and does what he wants, knowing that, while people might put forth the effort to stop him if he tried such antics through the means and methods provided in the Constitution, it takes a whole lot more effort and power to reverse what’s already been done.
Thus, we get improper “recess” appointments, overreaching administrative regulations, and illegal and untraceable campaign financing.
The old saying was “it’s easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.”
BO’s newer version: It’s easier to say “screw!” afterwards than to ask permission.
But…but…Osama’s dead!!
Al Qaeda lives…
This is just another Romney lie. GM never went bankrupt, Obama saved the auto industry.
…and he healed the ocean. Don’t forget the ocean.
