Those of us out here in the ‘burbs already have to pay income tax to the cities we work in. I live in a small town a good 20 miles from Columbus, but work in Columbus, and therefore they get 2.5% of my paycheck and I have no say in the matter. I can’t vote on the rate, nor for the people who decide how to spend it. They justify it by saying that I get the benefit of their infrastructure and public protection. Bull. I’m still paying for other people’s trash collection, swimming pools, rec centers, etc., none of which I have access to. In the meantime, I have to pay separately for these services here at home.
What the &%#@ else do they want from us? I’m really afraid to find out.
