How does the new model measure attainment in the traditional liberal arts? I mean, I get how Khan Academy and the like can say with certainty whether you can do math or physics well, but how does it tell the difference between someone who really read and understood Virgil, and someone who has the Cliff Notes in front of them?
Reading and writing well are still two of the most important skills one can have, even in the STEM fields. I don’t see how we get to post-credentialism until someone cracks this problem.
