Meet Jack Kemp. He really is politically tone deaf, in addition to being economically ignorant. Fortunately, Obama is even worse in both regards.

I just read these quotes from Churchill:
There is no such thing as a good tax.
Some see private enterprise as a predatory target to be shot, others as a cow to be milked, but few are those who see it as a sturdy horse pulling the wagon.
We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
If you have ten thousand regulations, you destroy all respect for the law.
Politics is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.
….all of which show there is nothing new under the Sun.
I was surprised that Kemp never made it to the White House.
He was something of a bore on the stump.
I think we could use boring but competent now and then.
“I think we could use boring but competent now and then.”
Indeed. Unfortunately the Prezidenshul Elecshuns have been American-Idolized into a Beauty Contest. The result of fat-dumb-happy times. Some serious pain (such as the kind we’ve been going through) is needed to scrape away that foolishness. But, alas, I’m not certain we’ve suffered enough.
wait. Fortunately, Obama is worse? that’s it?
P.s. love the quotes from Churchill.
