More stifling of free speech — a constitutional amendment to strip the right from pro-business non-profits, while leaving it intact for anti-business non-profits.
I wasn’t aware that the whole free speech thing was a set of “rules”. I was under the impression that it was actually a right guaranteed by the Constitution. Perhaps I’ve been misled?
Good point. And I liked the way “david” said it:
“U.S. free speech rules”? There are no U.S. free speech rules. There is a first amendment that says Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech. Does the executive branch think they can make some free speech rules, maybe enforced by NDAA military detention for violators?
Let’s hope this just amounts to an elaborate ruse from State: “Well, we’ll just uh… modify those, uh, rules we have.. for Free Speech.. yah, and in exchange you’ll…” A bold and perhaps unfounded assumption of their intellect and virtue, but I’m an optimist…
