The EU is considering banning publication of European bond ratings. While they’re at it, they might also want to consider removing all the batteries from their smoke detectors, as a fire-prevention measure.

The smoke detectors typically also contain the vile, carcinogenic, radioactive, mutagenic, teratogenic heavy-metal compound Americium also. The “Nuclear Free” zones in particular need to eliminate this pernicious flaunting of their morals.
I’m surprised they haven’t renamed Americium yet, too.

Those activities are the domain of the government only.
At a glance, I’d say that every country involved probably should have its bonds downrated right before the ban takes effect as a precautionary measure. The ban by itself introduces considerable uncertainty into the worth of these bonds.
I’m not sure why it is precautionary. As you say, the ban pretty much demands it.
