Why not to send your son there. Of course, universities in general have become male-hostile zones.

It is not limited to Brown. And it’s not really just male-hostility. It’s about an institution more interested in protecting its image by appearing to do the right thing rather than actually doing anything. I’ve seen my university in one case demand an accused take responsibility without any legal investigation, and in another case, take no action against 2 students found guilty by a jury for assault (in that particular case it was male on male, but not sexual). In that latter case, the university made it clear to the victim’s family they didn’t appreciate them bringing forward a legal case, because it made the local newspapers. At no point did the university take action against the guilty, rather they wanted the story to just go away.
I still have pride in the education I received, but I no longer provide endorsements to my alma mater. It’s a bit expensive yet provides an education that’s fairly equivalent to most any other. It deserves no more special consideration over any other. Neither does Brown.
