Well, if you walk down the street with warpaint on your face, feathers in your hair and carrying a tomahawk, don’t be surprised if somebody calls you an Indian.
Similarly, if you want to repeal the 14th Amendment and restrict the vote to only those who agree with you politically, don’t be surprised if you get lumped in with Jim Crow supporters.
Since there is zero evidence of voter fraud, and we have always had voter ID laws (I have to show my voter registration card to vote), the real reason for these new laws is to reduce Democratic voter turnout.
Chris Gerrib,
> Since there is zero evidence of voter fraud
Voter fraud is easy to find, Chris.
Yours,
Tom
Tom – then please provide a link to voter fraud Somebody registering to vote multiple times or registering Mickey Mouse to vote is not voter fraud.
Just as soon as you point to evidence of these anti-fraud proposals actually being racist.
Fuckhead.
If voters of one race are less likely to have the sort of ID required by proposed voter ID laws, then those laws have a racially disparate impact. And the evidence is overwhelming that minority voters are less likely to have the required ID.
GOP legislators support voter ID laws because they will suppress Democratic vote totals more than GOP totals. It isn’t very complicated.

You know what? Unless that’s the intent, it doesn’t effing matter. And it’s not the intent. The intent is to make sure that the voters are who they say they are.
They need an ID to buy cigarettes. They can damn well figure out how to get one to vote. If they can’t, I don’t want them to vote.

Did you know there are tourism companies in China that arrange for pregnant ladies to travel to the USA to have their babies on holiday?
“Since there is zero evidence of voter fraud, and we have always had voter ID laws (I have to show my voter registration card to vote), the real reason for these new laws is to reduce Democratic voter turnout.”
I am guessing that you had a different opinion in the year 2000. There is voter fraud in every election but it usually is only a deciding factor in close elections.
It is really hard to believe that anyone doesn’t already have a photo ID. The kind of poverty that would prevent someone from getting a photo ID does not exist in our society.
Here Chris, don’t choke on it. Well, not too much.
From the article “repeatedly trying to register the same voters more than once to meet a 20-signature-per-day quota imposed by ACORN.”
That is not voter fraud. Those voters only got to vote once, no matter how many times they registered. The only fraud was committed on ACORN, which was paying for multiple people registered, not the same person registered 20 times.
Nice try, but no cigar…
Oh, I see. It’s only voter fraud if it meets YOUR definition.
It’s only voter fraud if:
1) Somebody votes more than once
2) Somebody who’s not eligible to vote does so.
That’s the law.
Oh, also Bill, the requirement for voter IDs does nothing to stop the fraud you linked to.
A CA ID card costs $7 and is good for 6 years. QQ moar over that “poll tax”.
Or you could show your (free) voter ID card like we always do.
