Thoughts on the problems with it.
While I do think it would have been nice to take him alive to try to extract intel from him, I would never favor this. He deserved no better than a quick tribunal and summary execution. In fact, he deserved no better than he got.
Clancy seemed to handle that problem nicely in one of his books. OBL could have been handed over to the Saudis and done with.

John Ringo handled it better in Ghost. Not a pc book, and the main character has a laundry list of near-fatal flaws.
