It’s almost like he doesn’t really want to win reelection.

I actually don’t think he does. He might go through the motions of it all, but only just barely. He’s never kept any job as long as he’ll be forced to be President if he gets re-elected, and NONE of those jobs had much in the way of accountability or responsibility.

It’s pretty much a rule of thumb that anyone who uses the word “Democrat” as an adjective instead of “Democratic” (as in, “Democrat pols”) is a right-wing foot soldier.
We have some sensitive “Democrat” whiners out there, I see. All I can say is that allowing the use of the term “Democratic” would be an undeserved rhetorical gimmick for the Democrat Party. Hence, why it’s not done.
As to Obama’s outlook, I see arrogance and childishness to rival any political leader. For example, failing to recognize Easter is a pointless insult. I’m not Christian, but if I were President I would be honoring Easter. It’s respectful to the beliefs of your constituents. And from the slick pol angle, it’s an easy way to kiss babies in front of the camera.
I get the feeling he’s living this fantasy where these erratic slights and pointed actions amount to an overturning of a moribund, stagnant society. I read way too many politically oriented sci fi and fantasy pulp where a new ruler steps in and shakes things up by appointing daring, competence advisors and leaders rather than the traditional nobles/alien elites from the rival Inconsequentia and Noseblower power blocs. I guess the “hope and change” thing was a clue.
It’s a cliched story and this real world version fails hard.
“The Increasingly Odd Political Optics of Barack Obama.”
More like “The *Ongoing Display* of Odd (aka Boneheaded, Oafish, Irresponsible, Puerile, Boorish…you get the picture) Optics of Barack Obama.” He’s maintained a steady stream of this behavior since his coronation.
About the only thing I disagreed with in the article is complaints of using Air Force One (and the motorcade). I blame that stuff on the Secret Service bureaucracy that demands overwhelming force as security.
Otherwise, all the other optics are indeed bad. I head about the “buy a new car” bit a few days ago. That’s just idiotic. It’s in league with “let them eat cake”. He’s supposedly a scholar of history, but I don’t see it (which is why others are now questioning his transcript).
I think he still wants to be President. He likes the title and attention. However, I do think he’d be happy with the title, attention, and the ability to put his feet up on his desk, why he leans back and chats with buddies, maybe with a cigarette to puff on.
Well he’s the gift that keeps on giving.
He stands at the podium yesterday, over the Presidential seal…..and moans that we have way more important stuff to worry about than birth certificates….
then promptly jets off to Chi-town to tape an Oprah.
Hey, it’s campaign season. Besides, the less time the bull spends in the china shop…
