It’s very disturbing. And yes, it was clear early on that it was a parody of the killing of “Mr. Howard,” aka Jesse James.
So do today’s kids know Yogi? Is it on the cartoon channels? Or are they being introduced via the new movie?

The old Yogi cartoons are shown on Cartoon Network’s Boomerang spin-off channel, but unless you have Dish Network or DirecTV you probably can’t see it.
Boomerang is on the digital lineup at my cable provider.
Ah, thanks for pointing out the Jesse James link. I had not seen the movie, so the Yogi clip just came right out of nowhere for me.
I haven’t seen the movie, either, but Jesse James’ death is a pretty famous legend in American history.
Hey, my son the film critic just informed me that they’re also making a Smurf movie, with an all-star cast. One of the stars is Quentin Tarantino (this isn’t a joke). It may *actually* be more violent than this parody…
I’ll root for Gargamel. (Who doesn’t?)
