Things never look as impressive once you go from viewing a painting of them to viewing a photograph. Things begin to look even more unimpressive when you go from seeing a black and white photo to a color one, and more unimpressive still when you go from color film to video.
I love that about technology: It both changes, and illuminates, the banality of the human condition.
