Glenn Reynolds has a suggestion to improve diversity on the nation’s campuses.

Glenn’s suggestion has some merit, but of course I would prefer that the government get out of higher education altogether…end all financial assistance for tuition and end all research grants; while most could be considered well-intentioned, these programs would be far better run from a for-profit perspective. Perhaps that would restore value to obtaining a four year degree.
Universities would have to be much more selective in degree programs, staffing, student selection, and amenities if they had to operate in an environment that was more market driven.

But since we have to start somewhere, I’ll buy into Jiminator’s suggestion.
Dammit. In my blockquote above, the word “higher” was supposed to be in strikeout type.
