Leaving aside the issue of whether the federal government should be involved in our diets and weight, the BMI is junk science.

In the Democrat’s view of the Ownership Society, Society Owns You, and therefore you have to take care of yourself or you’re wasting a national resource (your taxable labor) while also imposing a cost on other taxpayers (nationalized health care).
So naturally they have every right to be involved in your diet and weight.
Why is it whenever a Democrat introduces a bill with the word “choice” in the title, my range of choices always gets narrower?
It’s the law of ironically-named socialist programs…
It’s not irony, it’s Orwellian.
It’s both. Orwell just gets it named after him for making the discovery, like “Kepler’s laws of planetary motion”…
The amazing thing IMNSHO is how drastic the differences can be between BMI and the body -fat- index. Much trickier to actually measure, but at least muscle mass and bone structure can’t push you into “obese” without discernible flab somewhere.
At least they can’t take salt out of my ketch… what?
