After reading this, I sure hope that Jerry Brown is the Dem’s candidate for California governor. And his history, between the fruit-fly war and Jim “Koolaid” Jones, is such a target-rich environment.

Hey, don’t knock Governor Fruit Fly. After those choppers dumped all that insecticide over the entire state, we never had a flea problem again.
Governor Moonbeam strikes again. I’m not so sure he was EVER a dynamic speaker, or at least, to me he seemed to ramble.
And he’s just what they need out there. A return to the days of overspending and pie in the sky thinking that is the root of the problem.
Rand, what will you do if the state goes belly up? Won’t it affect your, and your wife’s, ability to make a living? Just idle wondering.
The comments to that article are a hoot. I haven’t been keeping up with Cali politics as much as I maybe should (what starts in California tends to leak into the rest of the country, for better (hot tubs) or worse), but who’s running against Brown for the Dem nomination?
Well, neither of us works for the state. Most of my income, in fact, is from out of state.
Rand,
That is why I moved to Nevada. California has this crazy idea that if no one else is taxing your money, as a California resident, you owe it to them.
So even though most of the money I made online was from out of state I ended up having to pay California taxes on it. That is why I now hang my hat in Nevada 🙂
Thomas, thats why I left California….and I’m about to deed some property I still own in California over to the BLM instead of paying taxes on it. I’d be willing to bet that if I called for police/fire/EMS and gave them the address they wouldn’t be able to find it so what are the taxes doing for me?
Whoever you vote for in California I would steer clear from Carly Fiorina. She will remain known as the woman who helped kill Lucent and nearly killed HP. The woman is a walking disaster area. Only persons in IT I can remember with an equally bad management history is Hector Ruiz who nearly killed Motorola and AMD, and Michael Capellas who killed Compaq.
Unless you think buying failed companies with total product overlap, products people do not want, and nuking R&D are good management strategies for a technology company.
I know someone who worked at HP during the Fiorina era. If I found myself sentenced to return to California, I wouldn’t vote for Carly on a dare.
Carly is running for senator, not governor. She’d be preferable to Boxer.
Eh, if you say so, Rand. I’m still slipping some money to whoever appears to be the best primary opposition to Fiorina.
Say what you will about Mr. Moonbeam, he will be our next Governor. You can take that to the bank, that is, if there are any to be found.
