Wow, just wow. it’s only year one and a quarter. I am waiting for the defense of this anytime.
The individual mandate one is what bothers me. When, in the course of 20 zillion press ops, did a reporter question this? 20 years ago, you would have to go to the library and look at film of newspapers to get all of this. The intartubes is a wonderful thing.
There was only a brief mention at the end that obliquely mentioned our relationship with Israel, but nothing in the list mentioned our deteriorating relationship with Great Britain. These relationships with Western-style democracies took years to develop, and this administration is recklessly destroying these in a matter of months. I’m not saying those relationships are perfect, but surely the administration should be working to improve them and not destroy them.
This list can only get longer. I expect the next edition will include broken promises related to our national sovereignty and illegal immigration
Talking as an Englishman, I think it’ll take a bit more than the current incumbent to destroy the relationship with my country – I’m not naive, I know nations have interests, not ‘friendships’, but we do share some values.
We’ve had plenty of Marxists in positions of power over here (we’ve got a particularly stupid and pathetic lot in power at the moment), and yet we still manage to stumble through. Once America has had its innoculation against Marxism, I fully expect to see a revitalised nation, with a renewed respect for freedom and the Constitution.
I was in the States in 2000, in Santa Barbara, buying some stuff in a store and the sales clerk, on hearing I was from England, said in a very sneering way “What’s so ‘Great’ about Great Britain?” I said “Well, we do tend to stand by America when we can”. He laughed, I smiled and wandered off – ‘prick, I thought’, but I’ve often thought about that guy since.
“I’ve often thought about that guy since”
Think no more, Tony – he’s still (and will remain until death) a prick.
I like to rag on our cousins across the “pond” as well as the next one (and I’m sure you do to), but you’re still family to me. ;-p
Cheers! – feelings’ mutual 🙂
