As noted, one of the left’s distinguishing features is to continually rewrite its own violent history, and attribute it and project it onto others. In addition to the slander, it also creates a continual amnesia, or ahistorical attitude on the part of new adherents to it who are so mistaught the history.
I think those of us in the pro-freedom camp have noticed more and more the prevalance of projection in the statist camp. The most ludicrous version of this is some socialist bozo commenting in the Big Hollywood blog who condemned Sarah Palin for being (in addition to her major sin, not being a socialist) “politically correct.” One wonders what color the sun is in the universe they inhabit.
That reminds me of something I saw yesterday. ABC’s Nightline had done a short segment on the radio show Coast To Coast (if you don’t know, it’s a talk show that deals with paranormal subjects). What struck me about the segment is how ABC managed to inter-splice negative comments about Obama with talk about Bigfoot and UFOs. I guess their point was that to believe that the President is not doing a good job is on the same level as believing in ghosts and Bigfoot. Anybody who would believe what they see and hear on “Nightline” these days probably already believes in UFOs and Bigfoot.

So which camp is Obama in? Yes, that question does not have an obvious answer.
They have to paint the Obama haters as Big Foot and UFO nuts so as to legitimize their belief in Unicorns and leprechaun gold at the end of the hope and change rainbow.
