I really don’t understand why fanboys like you spend so much time and energy either defending Windows or attacking Mac (or both). Really at the end of the day who cares?
A product or company’s success (or failure) is largely determined by consumer demand. So to your point: Apple may not have been first to market with a Mp3 player, yet they dominate the market with the iPod. I agree they were not first to market with a smartphone, yet the iPhone continues to enjoy huge market share. Why? Because people (lots of them) want to buy cool stuff.
Perhaps the reason no one is shouting up and down about Windows tablets from 5 years ago is because they were unimpressive and had weak sales.
