Jeff Foust has a report. I have to say that so far, I like the guy. I don’t know if he’ll survive in the shark-infested waters of DC, though. And I wonder how much influence he’ll have over decisions going forward.

But does he have any hope of not being absorbed, overwhelmed and corrupted? NASA never lacked for smart competent well intentioned people…
I’m not sure if the fact that he didn’t want the job is good or bad news. That indicates a lack of vision and drive to change NASA, for better or for worse. So he probably won’t make things worse and drive his preferred outcomes (like Griffin), but will he be an agent of change? Doesn’t seem likely.
I am trying to remember back, if I recall correctly feelings towards Mike Griffin from this quarter were far more hopeful/positive when he started than they are now. How will the job have changed Bolden 4 years from now?
I wasn’t actually all that hopeful about Mike Griffin, having know him for fifteen years at the time, but I was willing to give him a chance. And I don’t think that he was changed by the job.
