Unsurprisingly on this decadal anniversary, there are a lot of Apollo pieces over at The Space Review today.
Note particularly Michael Potter’s piece on the real moon hoax. This will be a main theme of my upcoming (Real Soon Now, though it’s not looking very good for making the anniversary) piece in The New Atlantis.
As much as I hate to say it, I doubt we’ll ever go back to the moon, or on to Mars, or anywhere else. Not so long as Americans see space as a waste of time and money, and see such foolishness as American Idol and as important and worthy of dollars for texting for the winner.
I spent the first 20 or so years of my life anticipating the future.
I spent the last 40 or so years of my life contemplating the past.
