Whenever I come back to LA, I’m reminded of all the things that I miss about California. But I’m also reminded of all the things that I don’t, particularly this week, with the budget mess. I didn’t want to move to Florida, and I still don’t want to stay there, but it’s getting a lot harder to want to move back here.

Come to Texas! A space industry *and* no state income tax!
Does anyone remember a scarily prescient movie that came out in the late 1960s (68 if I recall correctly) titled “Wild in the Streets?” If you have not seen it, do so at once and note with a shudder how relevant it is to today. The way the current overlords are behaving, they have used it as a template. Yikes.
You could move to Albuquerque. You come though here occasionally anyway. You won’t get carjacked in most parts of town. The government isn’t great, but at least the population in New Mexico is still small enough that it’s reasonably susceptible to swaying by determined individuals. There’s hope for some good space industry here. We aren’t California. Yet.
Hmmm… sounds like a case of faint praise.
My extended family all lives here, and I can’t imagine moving. That can’t be much of an inducement to you. It’s definitely better than a lot of other places…
