Just for the record. These folks have, though, which would indicate that she’s really gotten into their heads. I think that there’s going to be a huge therapy bill come mid-November.

Has The Atlantic finally leashed its rabid pit bull? I’ve often wondered the last few years if the HIV has finally caught up with Andrew’s mind. Dementia, sadly, is one of the potential consequences.

  1. No kidding. I read that, and it just made me think these guys need a long vacation with no TV or internet access. “Get a life!” seems too understated a response.

  2. I’m always amazed when people bring him up. Honestly, why has anyone paid any attention to anything Andrew Sullivan has said in the last 3-4 years? He’s kind of like a cross between a little kid demanding attention, and the kook in the park[1] shouting about hearing voices.

    Sullivan has made a great career out of being completely irrelevant.

    But he’s got a link on DrudgeReport so that drives traffic. If he ever loses that link he is finished.

  4. Nonetheless, every time he hyperventilates, people keep pointing it out.

    Bloggers could just ignore him. Or simply say “The overly excitable Andrew Sullivan blathers on about something again” and not link to what he said.

  5. I wasn’t linking because he hyperventilates. That’s “dog bites man.” I was linking because it looks like his minders are finally minding him. That was news.

  6. I think you’re right about the AIDS side-effect, so let us preserve a gracious silence. In his day, he was well worth reading.

    Carl, yes, I agree with your first sentence, but I’d have to ask when his day *was*. I don’t remember it, although I admit I hadn’t heard of him before a few years ago.

  8. His day was in the nineties (he was one of the most biting critics of the Clintons) and the early twenty-first century, particularly after 911. But he seemed to go nuts when George Bush didn’t sign up for gay marriage (though I still seriously think that he may be suffering from his HIV infection, and if so, hope for the best for him).
