“Detectives were today investigating the possibility that the 58-year-old killed himself rather than leave his home of eight years.”
Eight years? I could understand his being upset (though not killing himself) if he had to move from his home of 30 or 50 years, but eight?
I’m guessing “vulnerable” is a euphemism for “nuts.”
“A rapid response vehicle attended and a search found a patient had sustained serious injuries.”
Talk about a gift for understatement.
I think removing one’s own head with a chainsaw was one of the bizarre deaths featured in that recent remake of “Andromeda Strain”. I remember at the time deciding that nothing like that could happen in the real world.
Easy enough to tape the trigger down to keep it running.
The chainsaws I used to run had a button to lock the trigger on WFO so you could more easily maneuver the saw without having to hold the trigger down. Plus, it is just plain tiring to be constantly holding the trigger on. This is not as unsafe as it sounds, as the slightest pressure on the trigger would release the lock and it would go back to idle. Of course, that was 35 years ago, I don’t really know if they are loaded with extra safety devices now.
I keep seeing Bruce Campbell as Ash, yelling “who’s laughing now?”
