  1. Bush appointee. “Caring conservative” turned out to be code for Democrat in conservative clothing. Reagan should have picked an actual conservative instead of Bush.

  2. Some commentators darkly opine that “They must have something, some scandal, on Roberts…”

IMO it is simply the human frailty where Justice Roberts has come to identify himself as the leader and protector of the Judiciary in America — a High Thearch of the Church of Justice. At some point protecting the bureaucracy becomes more than the pursuit of that illusive justice.

  3. “Roberts could de-escalate the situation by promptly reversing some of these out-of-control lower court rulings. But instead, he would rather sit on his hands and pontificate.”

Impeachment shouldn’t be easy. It also shouldn’t be easy for judges to abuse their power to prevent the will of the people from being realized when their elected politicians act within the law using powers given them by the constitution.

Politicians are time limited and the judiciary needs to recognize the restraints of reality. Oh wait, they do and that is why this is being allowed to continue. Dangerous game indeed
