One should always append “by zombies” to any use of the passive voice.
A car was driven into a market… by zombies.
But the construction “A woman catches fire on a NY subway” precludes even zombies as the causal actor. A spontaneous act of god, I’m sure.
A person who would drive a car in a market is in a broad sense, a kind of zombie?
The second headline makes one wonder if the car was Christine.

Have to give them credit for being such subtle wordsmiths. It is pretty easy to skip right over how a sentence is crafted. The audience is in the same state of mind as when they are watching a movie.
