The Preference Cascade

It’s still a couple months until Trump is inaugurated, but people have lost their fear. Though I suspect that it will take longer to cleanse academia, particularly of the anti-Semitism. But I expect a lot of those who have been the worst on campus may end up being (finally) deported.

[Update a couple minutes later[

The left will not go quietly. No, the fight has just begun, but the people are willing to do it now, and will not be cowed by them any longer.

Bob Zimmerman says that the American populace has awakened against the woke.

And western publics are finally turning on the “green” elites. They’ve figured out that it was never about the environment or the weather.

  1. Bob’s way over-optimistic in my opinion though I will read his third part, where I expect he’ll tone it down a bit. It should be kept in mind that Trump will probably be fairly unpopular in two years; he’ll still have the left who hates his guts, and added to that will be some percentage of the right who will think he hasn’t done enough, fed every inch of the way by corporate media. The House will switch back to D and the impeachment circus will start up all over again.

Still the next two years will be a chance for most of us to breathe a bit of fresh air for a change. And SpaceX should be roaring the whole time, with a perfectly timed Mars launch window in ’26.

    1. The bar is set very high for Trump and as he is human and we are dealing with reality, he wont be successful at everything. Overall, I expect good results though.

  2. Someone pointed out that 49ers went from leading the kneeling to doing Trump dances in the end zone. Big change right there.

This is the challenge as it is an institution that is harder to reform and takes a longer period of time. Can we look to Milton Freidman? Can we incentivize the wrong people (commie teachers) to do the right thing? Trump people have made some promising comments and they will have some unexpected policies. Even then, it wont be known how successful they are until Trump is out of office.
