  1. Thank Goodness for FEMA and it’s first priority mission according to its administrator, Deanne Criswell.

First, we must instill equity as a foundation of emergency management. Systems that foster inequality serve no one, especially in times of crisis. We must recognize that disasters affect individuals and communities differently, commit ourselves to reducing barriers to access, and deliver equitable outcomes for all whom we serve.

Appalachia, your coal mines being the root cause of climate change aside, you deserve emergency equity! And you’ll get it, good and hard…

    BTW, her emphasis, not mine…

  2. I caught the edge of the storm (I live 50 miles north of Raleigh) and got some water penetration from the very heavy rain. So here I am, 74 years old, with a pinched nerve in my back, digging out my ladders and headed for the roof…

  3. Bad enough that the FedGov is not doing anything, but actively stopping state and local governments as well as private citizens take it beyond typical negligence to outright malevolence.
