Not that it in any way distinguishes her from her other failures. But FWIW, I hate the word “czar” as a title for anyone in an American government. There is no constitutional authority for “czars.”

Missing from that article is role of the FAA as the primary impediment to SpaceX trying to improve their processes and test the new technologies they are developing.
Musk needs to announce that SpaceX is going to “work to rule” on all future NASA and DOD launches, in order to satisfy the FAA.

Too bad she viewed space as being beneath her and unimportant when all she had to do was be present and help NASA, the military, and commerce do what they do best and then take the credit.

That’s a mashup of some of what I’ve heard over the past 60 years, Some version of it is what Kamala and her aides would say privately, if not publicly at this point.

I prefer to associate success or failure with the actions of the politician in charge rather than just the fact that they were in office when it happened. Although Pence largely just participated in staged meetings, he did appoint Pace and Pace was largely been responsible for the excellent SPDs. The technical failures were more caused by the companies involved rather than Harris. For example, if Trump had a second term, would Boeing have done a better job with Starliner? Unlikely. If we are going to blame Harris for Boeing then we should credit her for SpaceX progress — which is silly. To the Biden Administration’s credit, they did choose to continue playing the good hand they were given especially significantly expanding the Artemis Accords signers. In conclusion, I think it fair to say that Harris’ job with the space portfolio was lackluster at best but not quite as bad as the article made out.
You are correct in saying that the companies involved in messes should be blamed, e.g. Boeing and Starliner. No, a Trump administration likely would not have made a difference there.
However, to the extent that the politicians can affect space, the Biden administration has been mostly negative. Did they actually do anything to encourage more nations to sign the Artemis Accords, or did those countries think it was a good idea and signed regardless? Have they done anything at all about the foot-dragging of the FAA?
I just listened to Homer Hickman’s article. Pretty devastating in Harris’s leadership of the NSpC.
I wonder about that spelling, since the actual historical title has always been rendered tsar in Romanization. Czar looks Hungarian. The word ultimately trace to Caesar of course.
Honestly, what has she ever succeeded at, except sucking seed?
She’s about to be elevated to the top job, which I would define as success.
