The Tape Must Be Really Really Bad

  1. How is it the AG has the ability to ‘classify’ anything?

And BTW, new president? New ultimate classification authority.

According to EO 13526 any department head has the power to classify documents according to a predetermined criterion. The link above does detail what those criterion are. I won’t bore you with the details, you can look them up via the link if you’re interested. I’m don’t know what the criterion was that Garland used. Unfortunately, Sperry’s tweet doesn’t say.

And BTW, new president? New ultimate classification authority.

    Quite true.

There is sort of a Peter Principle when it comes to classification. In that nobody ever went to jail for over classifying something.

There is also the old saying that:
Classification is the last refuge of a scandal/scoundrel.

    Take your pick.

    1. Heard on Gutfeld Garland is claiming Executive Privilege as opposed to classification. Which to me sounds vulnerable to a court challenge.

      1. On Monday’s Gutfeld!, Brian Kilmeade said that he had read the entire transcript of the interview. According to him, even the transcript read like Biden had lost his mind. And that was after it had undoubtedly been cleaned up, substantially.

My last clearance level was TS/SCI with full-scope polygraph. Every year, I had to take and pass an on-line course on handling classified material. And I remember vividly the rule that information must never be classified to cover up wrong-doing, blunders, or other facts embarrassing to the government or any government official. That is such horseshit.

Despite the government playing fast and loose with over-classifying, I would never question the classification level of anything – even though the most highly classified report I ever read turned out to be replicated verbatim on Wikipedia. You just don’t second guess that stuff, as a user of such information, and you protect it with your life. It has to be declassified by someone “in the know.” Just off hand, I would say that our enemies shouldn’t be alerted to just how leaderless the United States actually is.

  3. My bet is that the transcript of Hur’s interview doesn’t have just the minor alterations as claimed, and if compared to the audio would reveal major lies that could start a sequence of very bad events for both the White House and DoJ, particularly Biden, Garland, and anyone else who was directly involved.

    1. Yup, my thoughts as well. The transcript doesn’t match the audio. There are enough documented cases of the Biden administration altering official transcripts to make this more than likely.
