I suspect a lot of people are feeling this way. Which, of course, just means that the problem will get worse, until the system finally implodes.

It has to break completely before it can be rebuilt. In the meantime, the supply of competent people to do important things will continue to dwindle. Incompetents are already invading the field of medicine. We have a long way to fall, but we’re off to a “good” start.
That is why I didn’t pursue that career path. Things were obvious to anyone paying attention decades ago. I would have been great at it and in a different time, would have found that calling fulfilling.
All the Ayn Rand types will say this is the trajectory as predicted in Atlas Shrugged. Maybe they are right.
But what seems clear is that we are headed towards a two-tier society. One for the masses, ruled by DEI and incompetence and the other for the wealthy elite who go to private everything; school, healthcare, government.
I don’t know about you, but I for one never thought of the Mexican societal model as one I want to live in.
A day at the beach in Cancun. I’ve experienced this first-hand. This is no exaggeration.
Tis a shame as healthcare in the 21st century has been pretty good so far, aside from COVID.
It’ll be great as long as YOU can pay for it.
Can’t pay for it? Well we can use a ‘volunteer’ for vaccine trials after treatment.

How so? Our tax dollars gave us one of the best bio-engineered pandemics in history….
That part is depressing but I love getting test results before my doctor and all the IT stuff that caters to patients. Actual medical care has been mixed as doctors are people and make mistakes and have gaps in knowledge but overall better than when I was a kid.
My healthcare as a kid was top-notch. I had an excellent Cuban doctor that had fled the country just prior to the fall of Batista.
