The cleanest ethical solution is to kill them in battle.

Since this isn’t a World War involving major power alliances, I can’t see anyway to set up a Nuremberg Trial scenario. But that is what is called for. The UN is completely both judicially and morally bankrupt to conduct such. I wish it weren’t so.
This should however, not dissuade Israel from conducting such anyway and provide for a rigorous defense of the accused. Which Israel will have to supply since no Arab government or international body will recognize its legitimacy.
Executions for murderers, jail time for the enablers. Although the latter must be recognized as another opportunity for hostage taking.
But with Gaza neutralized, that’ll have to be the PA in the West Bank, which would have much to lose in such a scenario. In fact it beggars whether they would actually do that, given the fact that they aren’t keen to have radical Gazans amongst them.
With no more Iranian influence outside of Lebanon, Israel would need to fortify its northern border to keep Hezbollah from staging cross border raids and taking hostages for prisoner exchange of Iranian useful idiots for Israeli hostages.
This all presupposes Israel annexes Gaza. I don’t see an alternative. Egypt doesn’t want it and it for that reason alone, it would be a mistake to hand it over to them.
I’ve already resolved this year and next. Not one penny for Palestinian Relief until all Gazans (like the Germans before them) renounce Hamas (Nazism).
Send the occupants of Gaza to Bir Tawil. Much larger, surrounded by mohammedan nations, let them build the paradise they wish
Like it or not, Hamas was elected to power in Gaza in about 2006. Regardless of opinion, no further elections have been held in the Gaza Strip. That leaves Hamas as the democratically elected government in the Gaza Strip.
These Hamas soldiers did not act on their own.
They followed orders they knew could get them in trouble, I mean, raping and burning people is not exactly civilized behavior.
The foot soldiers deserve whatever they get in battle. Their superiors, however, sent them into a no-win situation in hopes they could keep the Iranian money flowing.
I heard the hideout the Hamas leaders had in Qatar was compromised, so they turned tail and ran. Not exactly the moral high ground, huh.
So, the end game?
Most of the foot soldiers on the Hamas payroll will die.
Those who live will be separated into two groups;
1. Those who help the victors,
2. Those who do not.
Group 1 should be tried individually and, if found guilty, punished accordingly. Same with group 2.
The people who sent them into battle, when found and tried, same story: Those found guilty should be punished accordingly. Those found not guilty, should be freed.
If they are captured, then send them to Mars. Lets see them bow to Mecca from Mars. They can operate mining robots, and do some farming.
Once on Mars, they should be put to work. The hours would be long. Say 10, to 12 hours a day, for 6 days a week. They would get Friday off.
The problem is that there isn’t a clear distinction between the “terrorists” and civilians. How can the terrorists be killed in battle when their ideology exists broadly in the population including among Palestinian mothers who raise their sons who become terrorists?
“Three-quarters of Palestinians support Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks on Israel that killed some 1,200 people, and nearly as many back a Palestinian state “from the river to the sea,” according to newly-released poll results.”
Stop the transmission.
We could accept unconditional surrender from Germany in WWII, because for all their faults — they were actual Nazis! — they still aspired to be taken seriously as a nation. Hamas has no such aspiration. There is no way to treat with them.
They should bring justice in a way that keeps them who they are rather than a reciprocal response.
Hamas fighters should go through a judicial process that decides their fate, life in prison or death penalty.
The people who live in Gaza aren’t going anywhere. They have ties to the land and regardless of where some of them came from, they are there now. Gaza should be divided into smaller statelets with no mans land between them. Instead of a two state solution, make it a many state solution. Smaller and weaker countries would be easier for Israel to deal with and would help prevent a single faction from taking over all of Gaza.
