As a public figure, Judge would have an uphill battle. But a public acknowledgement that Ruth Marcus just didn’t bother with rudimentary due diligence, combined with the alleged false accusations, is a case for defamation. Could feed some starving lawyers with that.
I expect there will a lot of books published in 2024 all trying to remind leftward voters just how bad “Orange Man Bad”. When you already have the narrative, you needn’t waste a lot of time on research.
Unless the candidate you are interviewing is Pierre Poilievre.
