Mike L.A. has steadily been building a legacy in the development of commercial human spaceflight that by rights should make him one of the most respected figures in the field. I know glory isn’t his goal, and that’s why he has been so amazingly effective – his sole interest is in the success of the endeavor. He’s one of the most understated individuals in a culture that has had some pretty colorful players. But he’s really one of those people who quietly advance things in ways we will only appreciate much later. The ASTM industry standards effort was one that many of us tried ro make happen over the past 25 years. He’s doing it. I wish him all the success in the world.
