One of my team’s managers gave ChatGPT our mechanical engineering interview exam. It mostly produced well-explained incorrect answers. However it was convincing enough to fool several non-mechanical technical people. Honestly probably already at the level of a typical bachelor’s graduate (which, unfortunately, is not very high). I definitely would have given a candidate with the same answers the benefit of an oral interview to try and save themselves.
