Even before the disruptions of the war, Germany’s policy showed remarkable failure such as high electricity costs relative to neighboring countries and the US. Only Denmark (with similar policies) had higher prices. And of course, the fact that its fossil fuel consumption has only slightly declined over a decade of this policy indicates the deep problems of it.
It’ll be interesting to see if the green factions decline substantially in power due to this lack of foresight.
