   1. The current response is “Green Hydrogen” unless you are one of the people tasked into making it a reality. Then you realize that not only do you need a place to store hydrogen made while the sun is shining and wind was blowing, but you also need a place to store the water you intended to make into hydrogen. Water that is also needed for crops, livestock, and people while also needing additional purification* before turning into hydrogen.

      We will set aside the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics, because they turn to prospect into a giggle session. This of course includes any talk of compression for hydrogen storage. We will also set aside California’s removal of dams, which is a 2-fer on the shooting yourself in the foot on energy storage.

      1. Move over cow flatulence. Hydrogen when leaked also warms the atmosphere.

         And of course, there is this minor consideration. Check hydrogen ratios against your feared fuel of choice, be it, natural gas (methane), gasoline, propane…
