The simple truth is that this advice is being given 50 years too late. By now, the University, as a social institution, is in direct opposition to: 1.) The continuing industrial revolution 2.) The American Republic It must be replaced as a means of transferring knowledge from one generation to the next.
They wont be within very long after doing any of those.
